WHO AM I?

My name is Virginie.

Before dedicating myself to supporting others, I worked in tourism for around ten years. I have always loved discovering, learning and exploring — places and people, but above all the different ways we experience and feel the world.

When I became a mother, I often found myself stressed and tired, caught between what I wanted to do well and what I could realistically give. I began looking for ways to feel better.

To understand why I was constantly tense, why I sometimes felt disconnected from my body, and why I struggled to find my place between being a woman and being a mother.

This personal journey gradually led me to somatotherapy, then to yoga and sound therapy.

Through training and experience, I discovered how our stories can also express themselves through the body, and how the body can become a resource when we learn to listen to it.

Du Baume au Corps grew out of this journey — not from a fully formed project, but as a natural evolution. It has become my space for supporting others, a place where I invite each person to reconnect with their body, their sensations and whatever is present in the moment.

MY APPROACH

I practise somatotherapy, a mind-body approach that brings together the body, emotions and words. I do not work with a fixed method. Depending on what emerges during a session, I may draw on touch, breathing, movement, relaxation, shiatsu or simply conversation. The guiding principle remains the same: paying attention to what is happening in the body, welcoming what is present and moving forward at your own pace.

Therapeutic touch helps bring attention to areas of tension, fatigue or discomfort, and to observe what is happening in the body.

Depending on your needs and what emerges during the session, I may draw on different practices such as shiatsu, Korean relaxation, sound therapy or other body-based techniques.

These practices invite you to release tension, reconnect with your sensations and make more space for what is being experienced in the body.

Conversation also plays an important role in my approach.

Breathing, movement, visualisation and other tools may also support this work and help you put words and meaning to what you are experiencing.

The aim is not to analyse the body or make it “say” something, but to listen, feel and welcome what is present.
